I'm Tracy. This is the first year I've raised my own chickens! I may have gone overboard. I currently have 48 pullets and 2 cockerels(that I know of). Among the breeds I have are Silkies, auracanas,Easter eggers, speckled Sussex, gold and silver laced wyndottes, every color polish, Cochin bantams, Sumatras, salmon favorelles, Mille fleur d'uncles, gold and silver laced seabrights, Japanese mottled bantams, cockoo marans and French cockoo marans, australorps and wellsummers also two random chicks im unsure about. I raised them all in our basement hot tub! I used a plastic pallet to cover the foot hole a little hay and some pine shavings later and instant chicken brooder. Now that it's warmed up, I have all but 13 outside in the coop now. My Mille fleurs, Japanese mottled bantam are too short to navigate the grass in the run and my salmon favorelles are only 2 weeks old. I have a blacked laced silver Polish Roo named handsome jack and a Sussex roo named uncle Jessie. I'm looking forward to learning and getting to know everyone. I live in rural northwest Tennessee with my chickens two dogs, one cat and two horses and a miniture rabbit. My teenage daughter and my grandmother. I make my lovely hood as a nurse but lately I'm thinking farming is for me lol! I have so many questions that I don't know where to start! I'll upload pics soon.

Glad you joined us! You've got a wonderful flock going on over there, very nice breeds. Have you checked out the Learning Center here yet? There are some wonderful articles on all aspects of chicken keeping and raising:
