Hi all -
My name is Aimee Darling and I live in Southern Maryland, near the Chesapeake Bay. I have been lurking here for some time now, simply finding some answers to questions doing a Google search. I finally decided that I should probably just join, since it would be so much easier lol.
A little about myself...I am a sugar glider rescue home, serving MD/DC/VA and PA, doing mainly rescue and rehab here for gliders that are ill and/or injured. Some will rehab and find new forever homes, some will remain with me. I am also active in the sugar glider community, working with The SUGAR Group, out of Amarillo Texas, which is the only glider research organization in the US, as well as The Glider Initiative, which focuses solely on education for owners. Diet & Nutrition is extremely important to me so I also pen a blog, The Glider Chef, which serves to help glider owners to know and understand foods they can and should eat, as well as other tips on enrichment and fulfillment during dinner time
Whew...so aside from that, I am married (husband, Brian), we have a 25 year old daughter, Ashley, two dogs, Kona and Sweet Pea, 11 hens and 1 roo. Yeah, he was an accident, but he's so darned beautiful and sweet, I can't give him up. Neighbors can deal LOL I had chickens 20 years ago when I lived in Minnesota, and about 2-1/2 months ago, we decided to add them to our lives again. We built them a nice, rustic looking coop (got the roost with PDZ idea from here and it's AMAZING!!), and they've got a large, 18x24 foot fully enclosed run. Living the high life, they are!
Anyway - I'm SUPER excited to be here, thanks already for all the great information you provide! Can't wait to start perusing a bit more.
Thank you!!
