I'm new to BackYard Chickens and I must say a HUGE thank you to the collective group already. I relied heavily on the forums here before we got our very first order of chicks (15 total) in March. We even built a brooder box and coop based on plans we found here, modified to fit our needs.

We have 3 Delawares, 3 Golden Buffs, 2 Salmon Faverolles, 3 Blue Ameraucanas (used to be 4, but we had 3 roosters and needed to find a new home for 1), and 3 Cream Legbars.

I found BackYard Chickens through various google searches as I learned about how to prepare for our chicks - it seemed that the forums here were the top results - and as I read, I began to understand why. Recently, I made my first posts, asking for confirmation on the sex of my Blues - and sure enough, the community was fast to respond and I had some very good feedback.

We also raise cows - we are currently bottle feeding a Beltie calf that couldn't make it on her mothers milk (cow was too dry). We have 2 cats, a dog and 2 stands of bees. We call ourselves a "herd" - and everyone gets along. Our chickens are free range all day - we often find the cows laying in the shade nearby the chickens dust bathing, the cats playing in the grass, and our dog "tracking" them all (she's a beagle).

Thanks for the nice welcome to BYC!
