Hi all,
I don’t have any chickens yet but I am taking delivery of some supplies this week to begin building a chicken tractor. To say this will be an adventure is an understatement.
My plan is to build a 4x 12 run with a 4x4 coop over one end. 1/2 inch hardware cloth over sides and top of the run; 2x4s for framing and 1/2 inch painted OSB for the walls/roof. I live on 3 acres in the middle of farm land and have seen on my property: coyotes, raccoons, possums, hawks, owls and even a bobcat in the area. I hope to have 4 or 5 hens, most likely red sex link.
Other than the chickens I currently live with 2 cats who adopted me, a small mixed breed 15 year old dog, 2 pomerians (12 and 10), and a 2.5 year old Golden Retriever.
I’ve been reading everything I can find on this site for weeks now and I’m sure I’ll have a ton of questions. Let the adventure begin.
Medda
