Hello,:frow and a warm welcome to Backyard Chickens! It's great to have you here with us and I hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
What color are their legs? They look like Easter eggers but it's usually uncommon for their legs to be orange

Their legs are like a yellow I purchased them at a feed store near me and I was told they were americanas the sign said they lay green eggs but a n employee said they can lay blue too
Feed stores always label their Easter eggers as 'Americanas'. 'Ameraucana' is the correct term and they are a true breed that come in specific colors like blue, black, buff, white splash, etc... Easter Eggers are a hybrid and can come in virtually any mixed color or patterns, and yes, they're eggs can be green or blue, but they can also end up laying brown or cream eggs as well

Thanks everyone was hoping for ameracuanas but Easter eggers will work for me ordered 5 and came home with 10 I thought I couldn't pass it up they re too cute does anyone know about their temperament and if they re good egg layers?

Welcome to BYC!
The only way to get true Ameraucanas is to order from a hatchery that sells them as a specific approved standard color (black, wheaten, white, blue, buff etc) or purchase them from a breeder. They're much more expensive. I don't know why feed/farm stores always label EEs as ameraucana... it's very misleading. Easter Eggers are a hybrid cross between any blue egg layer and any other breed. The hybrid usually results in a green or blue egg layer, but as stated before, could also be brown or cream. Common EE crosses are with Ameraucana or Cream Legbar.

I have 2 EEs (from a feed store) and they are lovely sweet birds. They have small combs, fluffy cheeks and beards instead of wattles and are much better flyers than my others. Mine were chipmunk striped as chicks like yours, and have the typical brownish feather pattern... here they are with my buff orp:

Jewel (lighter color) was a yellowish chick w/light brown stripes and she lays pale brown eggs. Cookie (black beard) was a dark chocolate brown chick and she lays green eggs. Both are dependable layers about equal to my heritage breeds. They won't lay like leghorns or production hybrids.

I've seen yellow chicks like yours turn out to be white, buff or any color with white mixed in. Whatever their coloring as chicks, it's always a surprise when they grow up.
