Hi everyone! I'm brand new to owning backyard chickens (have actually only had my girls about 2 days now) and wanted to introduce myself. I'm really excited to be here!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Brand new. Just got them on Saturday.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 4
(3) What breeds do you have? 2 Cream Legbars, 1 Chocolate Orpington, and 1 unsure. She's supposed to also be a Chocolate Orpington, but I have my doubts.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love their personalities and how rewarding they are. I haven't gotten any eggs yet, but that will definitely be a bonus once I do!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Makeup and cooking (especially low-carb)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I live in Nashville, TN and am married with 2 kids (11 year old boy and 7 year old girl). I am a corporate sales trainer, currently working from home due to Covid, and also a homeschooling mom. I'm big into beauty and makeup as well as low carb eating and lifestyle. Aside from my chickens, I have 2 dogs (soon to be 3), 2 cats, and a bearded dragon.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? Just found it today when I Googled a chicken question and it looked like a great community.
