Just joined and posting my introduction!
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have over twenty years' experience - grew up with chickens and have had them pretty much since then.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
24 hens, 2 roosters
(3) What breeds do you have?
Brahma, Lakenvelder, White & Buff Orpington, Americana, and home-hatched mixes.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Chicks, the beautiful eggs and the presence and personalities of a flock!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Spinning, Weaving, Knitting, Baking, Horseback Riding, Gardening, Quilting...
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Wonderful husband, two daughters (8&6) and son (2), three horses, handful of sheep, two dogs
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Internet search a couple of times. It looked like fun, and to be honest, I'm trying to find a good home for my Texas Pioneer pigeons.
