I've seen some stories of certain chickens ganging up on others... is that really a thing, or do the calmer breeds typically get along?

Given enough space and things to do in that space it's rare to see bullying.

Helloo! I must agree silkies are glamorous for the kids! We have raised a lot of babies for friends and family and all sorts or breeds. Our three ladies which I believe are New Hampshire reds are the sweetest ladies. Come sit in your lap type of sweet! I have attached a few pictures of her. Good luck on your new adventure
