(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am not new to chickens- We have had chickens for about 5 years. but recently I have been learning more about different breeds and incubating.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 20 chickens- But am in the process of incubating more! 5 days in!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Australorp, Starlight Green eggers, Saphire olive eggers, Isa Browns, Brahmas and Barnyard mixes
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love seeing little baby chicks following their mama around in the spring. I love having little buddies I get to see every morning. I like learning about different breeds and seeing their different personalities.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to garden- I am wanting to add some chicken friendly plants to their runs and my gardens this year.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a family of three- With a baby on the way! My daughter is in 4h and has a bunny! We have about 40 acres and a huge barn but haven't gotten any bigger animals like cows yet.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I came across this site looking up incubation questions!! I am excited to learn more from everyone!
