Thanks for letting me join! I've been a long-time lurker on the site but never got around to making a profile to post. I live in Central FL and have raised chickens, ducks and geese since I was a little girl.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- been raising them since I was 6 years old or so
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
- currently we have 12
(3) What breeds do you have?
- RIRs, Easter Eggers, Silkies, Black Copper Marans, Cream Legbars, and a Buff Brahma
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
- Their personalities
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
- freediving, scuba diving, and reading
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I work from home so I get to enjoy the view and entertainment of the chickens throughout the day that helps my work days go by quicker. We also have 2 cats and plan to get ducks and geese at some point in the future
