1. Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? My grandfather always had chickens and ducks while I was growing up, I always loved being around them but never personally raised them. Now as I get older I want to bring my daughter up with many of the same elements of my childhood.

2. How many chickens do you have right now? 5 Hens.

3. What breeds do you have? Golden Comet

4. What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I just love caring for and interacting with animals.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Music, fishing, archery, and spending time outdoors.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My wife and I have a 11 year old daughter, we have a very large collection of exotics, ball pythons, boas, burms, sand boas, king snakes, rainbow boa, hognose snake, a tortoise, leopard geckos, crested geckos, tarantuals, cockatiel, dog, cat, and some fish.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D I was looking for facebook groups to join so I could learn more and connect with others who have more experience and knowledge than myself.

Welcome! I had a beautiful ball python for a while named Mike. Now just cats, dogs and chicks, and a host of wildlife who live on our land.
 
:frow hi and welcome! Wow, what an eclectic collection you have! Looking forward to seeing you around in the threads. Not sure if we have a snake thread yet, maybe you could start one, would love to see pics of yours! We have lots of dog threads, some horse ones, a spider one or two ("spooder"), at least one very active baking one, etc., so make yourself at home! Room for just about everyone here.
