Here is our story (sorry if it is long). We lived in Beijing and then we wanted to start a farm. We then got an offer to move to NWA and we happily accepted. We came here 2 months ago and immediately started looking for a house. We found a gorgeous 11 acre one on the top of the mountain. After we purchased it the renovation began.
We have an extreme DIY-er family so most of the work was done ourselves. The house is almost finished up. We started to look for things like chickens, guinea fowl, turkeys because that's what we were here for and our house had a huge tick problem :/ . We ordered the Adopt Me program from the Meyer Hatchery.
When they arrived the 3 day old chicks seemed to be in perfect condition except for one. It was lying on its back, it's feet were straight up in the air. We began the process of feeding that one mashed up medicated chick feed, eggs, sugar water and anything you could think of. At one point in the day we surely thought it was going to pass but we kept on feeding it, keeping it under the heat lamp at a perfect temperature. It surprised us when it survived through the night and was waiting for us to give it more food. It slowly began standing up straight on its own and walking. It surely was a miracle chick but the fight isn't over. One other chick had pasty butt however it is better but still sleepy. They are under care and hopefully on the road to recovery.
This account was made to learn more about the chicks and help others.
The very sick one is dark brown.
Another chick.
Hope you found the story interesting
