Hi everyone,
For a while I was fascinated by the postings on BackYard Chickens.
Then, I decided to join as a member, but, somehow the system didn't allow me to register.
But thanks to the kind help of "The BackYard Chickens Team", here I am!!!
I am a member joining from Korea.
I work at a university. I studied in United States more than 20 years ago, for my Master and Ph.D in Gainesville, Florida.
Little more than a year ago, I started raising chickens at my weekend farm as a hobby.
For a while I went crazy with some of the rare breeds that are available on the Korean Chicken site, I hatched eggs in my office more than ten times. Some students came by to see the new born chicks. I enjoyed so many days of hard work, building chicken houses inside the green house of my farm. Slowly I have become less crazy by the fancy breeds.
I currently have a few Ameraucanas, Nagoya Cochins (Japanese breed), Gold CooCoo Marans (French breed, I hear), Blue Egg Laying Chickens (Korean version of Eastegger?), and currently in the process of hatching original Korean chicken in my office.
Although there are limits on what I can do or contribute by being a global member, I thought, it could still be interesting experience.
Hope it does turn out to be interesting
