Hi everyone!
I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this website. I am the proud owner of six chickens, about 5.5-6 months old.

From my research on the internet, I'm pretty sure I have 2 bantam welsummers, a silver wyandotte, a golden wyandotte, and two identical all black hens... I think they might be Langshans, but I'm not sure. They are very pretty, with an iridescent green shimmer.

They are the shyest of my hens, and they always turn away from the camera, so I don't have great shots of them yet, but I'm working on it! If anyone has a better idea of what they are, please tell!

Another question...
This morning I'm pretty sure I heard crowing. After closer inspection, I'm afraid one of the welsummers might be a rooster! Here's a pic of the two of them. The one on the left has a lot more fluff around his head, and the right one has a solid colored chest. The one on the left (rooster?) is the most active and talkative of all the chickens and is very personable. Am I correct in assuming he's a dude? Everything else about these two is pretty much identical. But they are still pretty young...

Here's a full body shot.

If he's not the rooster, somebody is! Just gotta find out which one.

Thanks to all for reading this and offering advice and info. I have lots more questions, but I'll save them for a later date.

Here's a baby picture just for fun :)

Thanks for your response! Would you mind telling me what makes him an EE roo and not a welsummer? Sorry, I'm new at this and I'm not really sure what you mean :)

Yup, pretty sure you guys are right and this is a roo.

He's the one on the left. They just look so much alike, I'd hate to be wrong!

Still curious about these black ones. Any thoughts?

THANKS!!!
