Hi everyone! I’ve had chickens for the past 14 years. My flock has changed due to moving a couple of times during this period. I’ve had Light Sussex and Isa Browns in the past and I now have 5 Araucanas, a Barnevelder and a Langshan. I recently bought a tiny 1890s cottage in a historic gold mining town in New South Wales where I live with my kelpie, kelpie/ridgeback cross and two cats. My boys are 25 and 22 and I’m going to be a granny in June for the first time! When I’m not looking after my critters I enjoy fibre arts and learning about local history and permaculture. My chicken Phryne is the black one in my avatar, she was not impressed when I brought home 5 new sisters after being one of two for quite a while!

Hello and welcome to BYC. I'm sure your experience and knowledge will be a great asset to us.

Here's a link to your country thread - https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/australia-six-states-and-that-funny-little-island.598568/
Thanks Pork Pie Ken, not sure about knowledge, I’ve lost a few over the years as I’m sure most of us have. My son and I did manage to revive a near dead girl, I think due to over heating, with an eye dropper and water. I couldn’t believe she made it!
