Hi guys,
I'm new to forum as well as here.
My name is Therese, I live in Queensland Australia. I was given a rooster as he was going to end up in the pot if someone didnt take him, so I got him 3 lady chooks so I now have a flock of 4 all different.
I have always had chooks even as a kid we were never without them. But 10yrs ago my hubby and I moved in with his elderly parents to look after them in their old age so I gave all mine chooks away.
Long story short in the past I have always got my start up hens from a egg farm, you know the ones they no longer want the poor old sad girls with no feathers and trimed beaks
. Anyways I always had eggs the next day. This time though I got 3 young pullets and am waiting my first egg in ten years
. My rooster has already started servicing my white leghorn so I am guessing she will start laying sometime soon.
I have been reading this forum for the last few weeks and have really enjoyed it. Thanks for having me.
Therese
