Hi all,
I live in the suburbs of Phoenix and don't have chickens, yet. We're sketching out a coop and run and re-learning a lot of stuff, but learning a lot of new things on this site. I've been lurking for a while and really appreciate all the info everyone shares!
Planning for our chicks in September, would like 4 Rhode Island reds. In the process of scoping out feed, supplies and chicks at various feed stores around town. We're certain to go soy free, but haven't really decided that I'll have time for mixing the feed myself. I have a garden over 400 square feet with lots of other yard space so they'll have ample room to free range.
Looking forward to having chickens again, it's been about 20 years. Going to share the experience with the grandkids this time around.
