Hi I am a female Scout leader who has just adopted 3 ex battery hens.

They have quickly become members of the family and are each giving an egg a day.

I found this site because I was googling why they have some strange behaviours (like pecking my boots).

It is wonderful to find like minded people.

I will be able to keep up to date with people who know so much more about chooks than I do.

Cheers, Ted

Hi Ted, nice to have you join us. And nice of you to take in some ex-bats, sounds like you are enjoying them!

Just put the baby girls to bed.

They have dug up my vegi patch, destroyed my garden. They think the local pub is the fish pond and now even my cat thinks they are gorgeous.

I thought I was a cat slave, I think I have become a Chook slave too

Love from Ted
