Hi there - I've been registered here for about a year now and have been amazed at what a supportive community it is, and so appreciate the advice I've received in the adventures of our small backyard flock. But I've never introduced myself! I have three young daughters, living BC Canada, and we kind of 'accidently' started keeping chickens last spring when somehow a RIR ended up living in our apple orchard. I was really surprised how much we love these birds!
I'm just starting my first trial at incubation with a homemade incubator...and have two broody hens, so am going to try a mix of setting eggs under them as well as in our incubator. I am writing about it all here at my blog . I really appreciate the support I've received here in the past and it is reassuring knowing there is somewhere I can turn for help seeing as I don't actually know many people who have any experience with chickens! Feel free to follow along on my hatching adventures the next 21 days over at my blog, I am really hoping that some will hatch so appreciate your feedback, comments, and insight as I fumble along!
