Hi everyone! My name is Melissa and I live in Berkeley County, WV. My family and I just started our first flock! We currently have four, almost six week old, blue Cochins (will be rehoming at least two that we have discovered are roos) and will be adding five more young pullets next month: Ameraucana, Buff Orpington, Gold Laced Wyandotte, Rhode Island Red, and Silver Laced Wyandotte.
My husband, Mike, and I have been married for 24 years next week and we have three children: Lindsey 21, Kaylyn 18, and Ian 16. Our numerous pets include four dogs, two cats, two geckos, a bearded dragon, a Netherland Dwarf rabbit, and fish. I am a high school biology and zoology teacher and keep the geckos,rabbit, and fish in my classroom during the school year.
I learned of this group through our oldest daughter who has been a member for a couple of years now in preparation for the day we finally started our backyard flock!
