Happy to be here. Every time I have a question about raising chickens, this site pops up..so needed to join. Lots of great stuff here.
I have a rooster who has attacked me once and attempted 2 other times. Only wanted hens, but guess with orpingtons hard to tell sex. Don't want to get rid of him, but he's making it hard for me to even spend any time in the pen. Any suggestions besides the obvious? : )) Thank you.

! Great to have you here! I've heard of people taking an old broom out with them and swatting a mean rooster. After a few times he gets the picture. Won't do much to tame him but at least you won't be getting attacked. Good luck to you!

Welcome to BYC, hennypenney, we're glad to have you here!

About the rooster... you could always find a new home for him or let him run around outside the pen, eating fresh grass and insects instead.

If that doesn't cure it, you've got a pot, right?
