(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Both of my grandfathers raised chickens so I grew up around them. I just started my own flock this week.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Fresh eggs, creating my own compost for the garden and being slightly closer to self-sufficient.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Woodworking, sewing, cooking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Military family, 2 daughters, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 guinea pig, 1 sugar glider, 5 chickens. I was a teacher before we moved to Massachusetts, now I work as a travel advisor specializing in Disney destinations, teach on VIPKid and just started working at a local museum before all the COVID precautions.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC when I was researching to start my flock a couple of years ago and getting the ladies made me go ahead and join.
