Hi from Cape Town

Some people have a wood floor coop(raised or not) covered by easy to clean linoleum flooring. You asked about chicken wire alternative - that would be 1/2" hardware cloth.(metal) , openings are too small for just about any predator to get thru or snag body parts- and tough to chew through. It must be securely attached to the run frame - not just held with plastic tie ons.

A solid covered roof on runs, with keep out hawks, climbers and jumpers. Raccoons love to drop down from branches into the run otherwise. It will also deflect some rain and snow.

If you coop is to be located in an area that floods, it would be better to have it raised from the ground. Welcome to BYC

Thanks for all the tips so far.
The African sun is pretty harsh so I have a solid roof planned then waterproof shade cloth of the run section.
OK so Hardware Cloth is called welded wire mesh here, you guys had me there for a moment

Luckily no Racoons, foxes or bears here just dogs, cats and bigass eagles and hawks.
At the stables the chicken free range and you always know there is a raptor around - The chickens are under anything.
