I am in Marceline (North Central) but will be going to Sedalia on the 18th for a poultry show and swap in 2 locations that day! and south of there about an hour(Preston, MO) that same weekend to pick up some eggs from a fellow BYCer! Wow, thanks for the welcome guys! Starting out I'm going for 6 BOs (pullets) and I'm in the process of converting a garden shed to a coop. I'm located in Versailles so Sedalia would be a 45 min drive for me. PM me and let me know what you'd like for them. Thanks!

Sounds like I better work faster on that coop, lol...

Thank you for the wonderful welcome! I know I don't need to tell you guys how much we are enjoying our babies. They are delightful! I don't know what they are, male /female or even the breed. I can't wait to see what they will look like. I have them in a fish tank with food, pine shavings, water bottle and heating pads. I would like them to have more run around time with the family though but they make a bit of a mess.

We got our first chick because of his leg. He walked like a drunken sailor and the others were always picking on him. He was definitely smaller than the others. We brought home a second chick from his group because he seemed so upset when we weren't holding him every minute. She was the next smallest. It's so neat to watch them learn. Our guy wasn't scratching about until our lady started and now he thinks he's the bomb because he can scratch too. I will read and read and read and ask and ask and ask. Here's a question: how long can they stay in the tank? How much run around room do they need at this stage? I think they are about 10 days but I am not sure.
Thank you all
