Hi everyone!

I'm from Colorado, with a small flock of 13; 5 Easter Eggers and the rest Australorps. They are about 4 months old now. I've been reading the forum for ages and finally decided to join.

Nice to meet everyone, and thanks for the advice I've already gotten, and will continue to get!

Hello and welcome to BYC

You've picked good breeds!

Thanks everyone!

We plan to breed the Australorps for selling and meatbirds. We do have an Easter Egger rooster and will keep him through winter to help with predators but then he will go to the dinner table so we'll only have the Australorp roosters. I need to build on to my coop and run before we get too many more though. And I already have people waiting to buy eggs, so it will be nice when they are laying. I have four kids still at home including a giant 14 year old boy, so we could easily go through three dozen a week between eating and baking. I'm excited to start getting eggs in the spring.

Hello to a fellow Colorado-ian-ite, and welcome! Which area are you in? (Tall, flat, trees, desert, prairie, city, that sort of stuff)

Good choice with the Australorps, they're easy to see in the snow!
