Hi from eastern Long Island, New York

Hi all,

I'm chicken-less at the moment, but in a past job as the director at a local museum farm we had 50 some Rhode Island Reds, and I miss those soothing clucks as well as the fresh eggs. Local codes forbid chickens where I live, but retirement is beckoning and I'm planning on a small flock of egg layers.

In the meantime, I'll be reading and learning and occassionally asking questions.
