Hi!

I live in a pretty little town, have a big back yard and I'm setting up a spanking new chicken hutch but I'm (sadly!) an empty nester... (no, the kids I don't have, haven't left home), I have NO CHICKENS!

Isn't that sad?

I want 2 Faverolles hen/chicks and one blue bantam silkie chick. Silkies are readily available, but Faverolles are as scarse as... wait for it... here it comes... scares as hen's teeth!

Oh well. I'm willing to wait for my Faverolles & when I get them, I can just run to the feed store for my silkie chick.

I think my little flock will be wonderful for my moral and my birds will be indoor/outdoor pets, but first I have to find them... Anyone have leads on Faverolles in Northern California? So far all the breeders I've contacted say Faves are wonderful birds, and that they USED to carry them but don't any longer. Anyone actually have the critters? Anyone? Please?

I'm sure you'll be able to find Favorelles in California. As you wade through the myriad of info. here on BYC, get friendly with the search function in the blue bar toward the top of the page - I use it all the time!

Sounds like you've got a good plan for your future chickens - I wish you the very best in finding exactly what you're looking for!

JOY OF JOYS!!!!!

Well just cover me in chicken feathers and call me a dumb cluck!

My whining and whinging over Faverolles chicks was for naught. I had thought there would be no Faverolles available on the site until like next spring, but no...!

I checked this mroning and the Faverolles page is now listing three Faverolles hatch dates, the first being August 10, so guess what???? I ordered and will receive 4 Faverolles chicks!

I am so totally stoked! Must get busy setting up my chick nursery for then my little girls arrive the week of August 10th.

Oh, pinch me! I'm going to be a Mama Hen!

Where are my manners? Thanks to all of you for holding my hand and coming up with excellent suggestions for where I could get some Faverolles. I just know I'm going to love it around here!

and Congrats on finding your Faverolle's . I grew up in Fair Oaks, lived off of Kenneth near Sunset. Great town! Full of chickens! We have another member from Fair Oaks too, she has lots of silkies... "Enchanted Sunrise Farms" I think is her name ( she changed it recently . If you decide to branch off into Coturnix quail... I always have eggs and chicks!
