Hi all! I'm new to the life of a backyard chicken keeper. While I have had many friends who have raised chickens, its my families first time. I think I have become slightly obsessed. We have 2 Rhode Island Reds, 5 Buffs, 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 3 Black Jerseys, 1 Barred Plymoth Rock and 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte (i think). That's 15. 7 that are laying now & 8 that are about 6-8 weeks old. My friends think I've gone crazy but that's ok. We live off of the last "big road" before the country begins, out in the burbs of Tampa. Many of our neighbors have chickens. We have a little over an acre of land so its pretty nice. I am excited to learn from everyone. I have already learned about feeding different aged birds that are kept together!
