Hi everyone... newbie in tropical south Florida...
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Totally New. No chickens yet, I have to apply to our Village Manager for permission first. Before I do that, I want to learn lots and lots about how to care for, protect, feed, controlling odors, etc.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? None. I think (I think) I'd like to have about 12 or so to start.... or whatever is actually feasible.
(3) What breeds do you have? I don't, but I already see I'd need heat tolerant birds/breeds. Ideally, dual purpose.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Simple Google search!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? gardening, quilting, blacksmithing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. One husband, 6 cats (indoor), church ministry, music ministry, looking for part time work to fuel my (hopefully) soon-to-be chicken habit!
