Wow great info! I've been planning my chicken coop already. Will probably build it in a week or two. I bought the chicken wires for the chain link already. I am thinking of covering the bottom 3 feet with chicken wire for security. I am not planning to cover the top full time, I will be growing a chayote plant next to it that will cover the top by summer. The dead leaves will hang over winter and into spring. So most of the time it will be covered, but not rain proof. I also have lots of garden beds with vegetables, and I am trying to see whats the best route to allow the chickens to go in when I am done harvesting. I might just surround the entire vegetable area with netting and let them roam free in the whole area, and cover specific crop beds that are still growing.
Great pictures! My cousin had some EEs before and they looked beautiful. They had striking color all around, firery oranges, browns, and blacks. Very nice pattern on them. I am hoping mines turn out like that too.
