We have quite the bird household. I'd been wanting chickens for years and my husband and I recently got 5 silkies from the Garry farm, 2 adult hens and 5 teenagers. I wanted immediate layers and lucky for us they are within driving distance. We visited and had an awesome time. I have to say they are some of the kindest people I have ever met.
We just got 12 more chickens today but they are itty bitty babies from TSC. We want a wide variety of layers and eggs so with all luck, we will end up with eggs for everyone!
Our goal is to have enough eggs to support my baking habit and provide fresh eggs for our family members.
Our pets consist of two amazing parrots and two dogs. I grew up as a parrot mama so chickens naturally seemed not too difficult. Parrots can be complicated and finicky and always temperature sensitive! Luckily for me, the chickens can live outside!
