I have been a lurker for many months & finally decided to join today!

I have ALWAYS wanted chickens and was FINALLY "allowed" to this spring (by my hubby).

He is a carpenter so of course my girls have an awesome coop! Because it can get quite cold here in the flatlands (I'm from KY), I decided to get 4 Barred Rocks and 2 ISA Browns. It has been a very enjoyable experience raising and getting to know the personalities of my girls. The daily eggs are a nice bonus too!! My family can not believe that my chickens are spoiled. (Who knew you could actually spoil a chicken?!) Anyway, I am happy to be joining a community of other chicken lovers...and that I won't be made fun of!!

Hi i am from england i have been a 'guest' for many months finally decided to join the group of chicken enthusiasts as i am boring my family senseless

i love reding all the different posts. i have lavendar pekins, black pekin which my brother says is a 'throw back'

a ranger, chestnut ranger, marigold, and chicks which are buff orpingtons x lavendar pekins (very cute) a jack russell & two goldfish. There i think ive introduced all my 'family' on my small smallholding
