Hi from Indiana

Hello, fellow Hoosier! :frow
We have an active state thread, come by and say hello! https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/indiana-bycers-here.730582/page-5484
As far as your rooster, good for rescuing him. Did he give something to your other chickens the reason why you are treating them?[/QU
Thanks you I will check out that thread. He was missing feathers with red areas on his neck and chest which I could'nt tell until I was able to hold him and get a good look at him. He also had feathers all over his back above his tail that are stuck down like glue, I'm assuming nits. His tail feather's where very scraggly and quills on wings and feet with no feathers on them. Raw areas under both wings, and gray feet. He had been being bullied by a number of other full grown roosters. So it's been a long 3 weeks using poultry dust and vaseline on all of them now. Dewormed right away. Sunday morning one of my Brahma's had bloody diarrea so I jumped back on here (A HUGE thank you to all poster's here :) ) then made the trip to rural king for the antibiotic. It seems to be working as she is already getting better. Back to Flipper the rooster. We where having daily trouble with hawks so about a month ago I started looking on craigslist for a small rooster, our chicks where smaller at the time too. Found a post just a few miles away so I went to check them out. It was hard to get a good look at him as there where a lot of chickens running around out there, Once I got him home and out of the container I could see he was in terrible shape. Considered for a moment taking him back, decided that would be a death sentence so here we are. It's been rough.
