Hello folks! We have a farm in Brownsburg, Indiana and have just joined the "chicken keeping family". We got into this quite accidently. One morning we found a chicken in our barn. Thinking it belonged to our neighbors, we returned it to their coop. Daily for a week, it returned to our barn. The neighbors finally saw it and said it wasn't theirs. Having no idea where it came from we began to feed it and felt guilty that it didn't have any "friends". So two days ago we went to the farm store and purchased six pullets. One didn't survive the night but the others are still doing fine. Yesterday we got our first egg from our adopted chicken. What a trip!
