We are new to BYC, we've been raising chickens for a few years, but there is always something to learn. Right now we have 38 chickens consisting of Seramas, Blue/Black Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, Leghorns & Sexlinks. In a few weeks we will receive 50 Cornish Cross & 25 Bonus Chicks & a fresh hatch of Rhode Island Reds from the incubator. I'd like a few Buff Orpington hens, but I'm still waiting for dear hubby to come around on that one. That means adding more pens...more work for him...ooops need to add 1 turkey to that mix thanks to a sweet friend up the street who introduced me to BYC!!! :-D Thanks
I've been married to my husband for 24 years and we have 6 children. We have a great German Shepherd Dog whose job is to keep predators away from our chickens, she earns her keep pretty well. We have one goose and one guinea that run free in our yard, that are also helpful in keeping the predators away.
We are looking forward to meeting new friends on BYC.
