Hi there! New chicken mom here! We got our girls 6 weeks ago, when they were about two days old. We started out with 15 but one did not make it. We have 14 now; four Barred Rock, five Australorp, and five Rhode Island Red. I wanted chickens for quite awhile, and this year my husband made a coop out of one of the stalls in our barn, and we got our girls. I love watching them!! And I have two that I can cuddle as much as I want! I also have two Labradoodles, one indoor cat, and three barn cats. I've done a lot of Googling since I got them and found BYC to be an excellent source for information and answers. All my girls are doing great with the exception of one RIR. She is smaller than the rest, and seems to limp. She's eating and drinking fine. I am hoping to find something on here that can shed some light on this. Anyhow....I am obsessed !!! I am so glad I got them!
