I am new to BYC but really new to chickens...although there is plenty to learn still.
I will say I am the proud chicken mom of 10 chicks. And looking to expand some. I am from cold minnesota (woke up to snow this morning) but I love it here.
Love the BYC website. It has been very helpful to me. Looking forward to reading more posts!!

from Kansas, All of my DH's family is in MN except MIL and FIL loved it when we went up and stayed at the lake for a week.
 
Thanks all!! I am way north MN. Just about 2 hours from the Canadian border. I was born and raised here and couldn`t think of a better place to raise some cool chicks

Besides being a true animal lover I honestly didn`t know how addicting chickens were until I I finally got the time to become a chicken mom..lol

I also have 2 dogs (bulldog mix and boston terrier mix) 4 cats, 2 parakeets, 2 holland bunnies and now 10 chickens.
I find myself on the computer every night researching either chickens or garden stuff...did I mention I have also expanded my gardening?? Seems to go great with chickens (and rabbits)...in fact...I started planning part of my garden around what my chickens would like too. My kids are grown and moved away now and they think Im nuts..ha ha...My youngest sons room has been turned into the baby animal room as I also have the 2 holland rabbits in there. Between the rabbits and chicks I shouldnt have to buy fertilizer...boy does that make me happy.
My oldest son commented that I have my own eco system going..lol... I have to agree
