Hi there! I'm getting chickens!!!! Not right now but sometime soon. I have tons of questions--I'm not even sure what breed or how many I need! It gets super cold here for long stretches (-40F and sometimes even colder!) and we have very short summers. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Chantecler's were developed in Canada and are very good with the cold! Also, you can try mypetchicken.com's breed selection tool to figure out what you want. Chickens can be amazingly cold hardy. I'm in Colorado and just got three EEs (Easter Eggers). You can also look around here a bit, there is an answer to just about any question you could have!

Good luck; and be warned: Chicken math is inescapable!
