Welcome to BYC, Donna. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry for the loss of your chicken. It's always sad to lose one of our flock. :o( If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with the rest of your flock.

Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, unexplained deaths are not uncommon among poultry. If others start to sicken, however, it would be wise to see a vet. Welcome to Backyard chickens..

Hi Donna,

Sorry you lost one of your flock, unfortunately that happens sometimes. What breed(s) of chickens do you raise? Is that a Barred Plymouth Rock chick in your avatar? Glad you are enjoying the birds.

If you have any questions, always feel free to ask. Everyone is here to help each other.

Thanks for joining us!

I have dominiques and black austalorps, two of each now, the one that died was a Dominique, she was pretty low on the totem pole but a sweet girl, no foul play suspected! With such a small flock I'm worried about trying to add one in eventually, I know it's not easy.
