So sorry for the heartbreak you have suffered with your first shipped chicks. Did the hatchery have any heat packs, etc. to keep them warm ? Some hatcheries send along extra chicks(always male) to help keep them all warm. You can see how little they value male chicks.
The Marek's vaccination won't prevent it but, if the chick comes down with it, they may have a lighter case. BTW silkies and seramas are not as Marek's resistance as some other breeds.
Have you checked out the "Silkie thread?" lots of info on the breed and many breeders participating on there they may live nearer to you. Hope you have very good luck with the next ones.
