I am happily once again a chicken mama!! Its been a long 5 years but I finally have some feathered babies. When I lived in north Georgia I had many many many chickens of many breeds.

My name is Carol. I live kind of in between Valdosta, GA and Gainesville, FL. Im 42 and a stay at home mom. My girls are 3,4,6 and 7. I hoping to eventually get them in 4-H or something with chickens.

Unfortunately my hubby doesnt appreciate my love of chickens and he won't help me build a nice coop. So they are in a set of 3 pens.

I have white silkies. 1 rooster, 3 hens and 8 little chicks.

I'm looking for new friends, esp near by.

I am new to this forum...a few weeks...I am in north central florida. Stay at home mom with 2 kids 5 yr old boy and almost 10 yr old girl. 34 yrs old myself with a wonderful husband who got me into chickens this past December. We are looking into 4-H for our two kids also.

We have a total of 51 chickens as of now and are incubating about 10 or so right now. We have RIR, White Leg horns, Barred Rocks, Red Stars, and Easter Eggers. This is our first attempt at chickens and were are loving it. Finally starting getting eggs in the last 2 weeks, 5 of our 9 RIR are laying right now.

Tracy, are you down near Crystal River and Dunnellon??

I am near Lake City. Im about an hour from Gainesville and 90 mins for Jacksonville.

My girls are 3 and 4 but I also have custody of my 6 and 7 year old nieces.

I wish my hubby loved chickens. He just tolerates them for me.
