Welcome to BYC! What an interesting study to be doing. I've read a lot here about how chickens handle cold better than people expect - and how it's important to make sure there's good ventilation up high in your coop, so that moisture and ammonia go up and out. Where I am, I more worry about keeping mine ok in the heat of the summer.
