Hi from northern Ontario

I’m a chicken lover from Northern Ontario. I started my flock in 2015, and have been in heaven since. I have 2 young children who love our birds as much as I do, 3 large dogs, and 2 cats. We love our country life.
I’m looking forward to some great advice from fellow chicken enthusiasts.

Hello and welcome.

Northern Ontario. I'm guessing it is cold there. What breeds of chickens do you have, and what is your set-up?

Do you have any Chantecler chickens? They were developed in Canada to handle the cold.

Thanks for the wonderful welcome!
I have roughly 35 hens and 3 roosters. Mixed breeds, a few polish, reds, barred rocks, Orpingtons (buff and lavender). I have a oddly wonderful flock, very accepting of new chickens. Because the winter weather is rough here we are often offered random chickens people aren’t willing to keep over the winter. Our home has always been a drop off for unwanted animals. We’re very lucky, our cats, dogs, chicken, and children all get along unbelievable well. I’m a lucky mama.

Wow! :bow How ever did you pull that off?
