I've had chicken in the past, but it's my first time raising chicks, so I've already posted multiple times and gotten lots of help. I'm 39 and live in northern Norway with my son. We only recently got a new house with a big garden, and I've worked on turning the old shed into a coop. In May I hatched 14 chicks in an incubator. One of them died at 2,5 weeks for reasons unknown, but the others are now 4,5 and have moved out into the coop. Most of them are a mix between Australops and Lohman while 3 are Orpington. Despite the mix being two breeds, they ended up being all sorts of different colors, brown, black, gray, white and all in between. I'm already itching to get more chicken! I love those little guys so much I miss them after they moved out of the house. I go out to check on them all the time, even in the middle of the night! It's like having babies.
