Hi,I live in upstate, the cold part of New York! I just got my first chickens ever today; they were delivered with this new coop. I have seven rescue dogs, left over from when I did dog rescue, so we put another fence around the coop, as the coop is just chicken wire. I know very little about chickens! I know dogs, i know horses, because we used to have them on our property. I know cats, but not chickens. So I am looking forward to learning all about my new chickens! They are barred rocks, three hens and a rooster, and the hens are missing feathers on their backs. The woman I bought them from said they are molting, but I have a feeling the rooster is not being nice!

Looking Forwardto hanging around,
Nancy Lee

You're on the right track. The rooster is being very 'nice'. Way too frequently.

Hi! I live close to you, between Ithaca and Binghamton, and am also new to chickens. I have an EE and a partridge Rock hen, a bunch of week old babies and three month olds, so am learning as much as I can as fast as I can!

Thanks for the nice welcome!!! I live north of Albany, about an hour, in the Adirondacks. I just discovered Partridge Barred Rocks, and I want one now!!!
