I'm new to raising chickens. My fiancé & I got 2 Golden Comets in April and they are currently around 29 or 30 weeks I believe. We are currently having problems, as they are not laying for us! I hope to find out why & get tips to help them here. We have one dog as well, a 4 year old chocolate lab.

from a fellow Buckeye. If you haven't already, you should post your problem under emergencies or chicken behaviors and egglaying. You might get a better response there. Not everyone looks at the New member posting. Without enough info. on your birds, it could be just that they are starting to molt. Good luck.

Are your chickens free-ranging? If they are, they could be laying their eggs under bushes, in private little corners, or wherever else they please.
