We have been reading all the info we can about raising chickens and just got these chicks a week ago. I was told they are Rhode Island Reds but today figured out that they are actually a breed called Isa Browns. Either way we already love them! I just read the article about how they came from the RIR. We are excited to get them and get started on this new adventure!

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Very cute little chicks, they are adorable at that age! ISA Browns are great layers of big brown eggs, you should be really happy with them!

They are beautiful chicks and very consistent in their markings, so whatever they are - all ARE the same breed.

Welcome to BYC. I'm guessing that picture has distorted the coloration of those chicks? Isa Browns should be buff/reddish with darker red stripes.
