I never owned chickens even though I grew up a on a farm.. well it was a vegetable farm I have children 3 girls and a baby boy. and thought would be good to get fresh eggs, and fresh non-store purchased chicken meat

I am still unsure on a coop design although I have decided to convert my un-used shed into a chicken coop some how.
