Hi

My name is CC and we purchased a small farm two years ago.

We had chickens many years ago and really enjoyed them. We decided to get chickens before we got any other livestock. We became interested in breeding a rare breed and decided to try Barred Hollands. We got about 40 from two different hatcheries as well as a few Black Javas. We got 4 "Olive Eggers" and 4 "Production" Rhode Island Reds from the local farm store. One of the "Olive Egger" pullets turned out to be a boy.

This website is a great resource for "all things chicken" and I'm glad to be a part of it!

Welcome to BackYardChickens! So glad to have you here in our wonderful community of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people! We are in Portland, Oregon and will soon move to Lakeside Oregon. (where we will be able to keep chickens!)
