Hello everyone, joining to get advice as our family navigates our backyard chicken life.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Both my wife and I had chickens growing up so we decided to jump into it about a year ago. We are intermediates
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 15 currently but had as many as 19 at one time and have had 27 since we started (lost 12)
(3) What breeds do you have?
Lots
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Just seeing them in the yard doing their thing makes me happy. And the eggs of course. Another key for me is being able to bring some aspects of country life into our urban environment.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Paragliding, skiing, golf
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
There are 5 of us and kids are 16, 13, and 10. In addition to the chickens we have 3 dogs, a snake, a hamster, and approximately one million flies.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Have used BYC during google searching but need to ask more specific questions so I joined.
